Just saw a note in the December minutes about the trophy and offshore points collation etc.

I've decided that I'll stand down from offshore points collation this year. Have too much other stuff on the go.

Bruce Clarke has the offshore series trophy as the 2016 winner; it's engraved with his name on it, so just needs engraving with the 2017 winner’s name. The Certificates have previously been printed by Steve T. from the IRMS printer, which is set up for the NZMPBA certificate format. So have a chat with him about certificates for the February event.

MATTERS ARISING FROM CORRESPONDANCE

1 Discussion:- General view of the committee is we need to simplify circuit racing classes in the future elimination the stock class to solve Continual finger pointing and doubt. with no current engine scrutineering being done to check that they conform which requires a total strip down. Time constraints at regattas are preventing this from happening. Speed and 2 lap oval classes would be exempt. In the mean time offenders will be censured.

2018 NATIONALS

As no Club has indicated an interest there will be no Nationals in 2018

General Business
Nationals venue and date required for 2019 if any club interested!
We need feedback from the general membership whether in fact they want any nationals in the future

REMINDER
ALL PETROL BOATS MUST HAVE IGNITION DISABLING DEVICES
INSTALLED FROM 1 JANUARY 2018 TO COMPETE AT NZMPBA SANCTIONED REGATTAS AS PER RULE BOOK. (General rules section)

Rolling Pictures on web site Peter has worked out how to up-date them now so new updated pictures will be added shortly.

Presidents Cup Points

The committee is looking at a minor tweaking of the points scoring system for the offshore series ( with membership input) as the current system disproportionately favours the events in this series for Presidents Cup points.( to be discussed at the next committee meeting)

Electronic Lap counting Trevor reported that Bayden Sproden has identified the issues with the last tests at the Masterton offshore and has made refinements for another test soon.

John Belworthy reported he has bought a good performing colour printer for $29 for doing our membership cards.
