After many years of attempts from various boaters we finally got our first nitro record over the legendary 100mph barrier.

Carl Hansen came to Blenheim all the way from Whangarei to our Need for Speed Regatta and completed a backed up run of 162.162kmh with his 90 rigger.

His best run was 167.832 but could not back it up mainly due to changing weather and air temperature as the day wore on.

He also Briefly held the P3 87db record at 116.978kmh till I let Blitz-Em loose and run 118.616.

A Big thanks to the timers and helpers, without whom, these achievements would not be possible.
