[b]IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE COMMITTEE’S ATTENTION THAT ON ONE OCCASION A COMPETITOR WHO HAD KILL SWITCH ISSUES , DISCONNECTED HIS IGNITION KILL SWITCH IN ORDER THAT HE COULD CONTINUE RACING.
THIS WAS NOT MADE KNOWN TO THE RACE OFFICIALS UNTIL AFTER THE EVENT.

As this is a health and safety issue and breaking the NZMPBA rules It is the committee’s unanimous decision that in future should any competitor be found guilty of doing this they will lose all points gained at that regatta and as well be stood down for the following two sanctioned regattas on the NZMPBA Calendar for that year.

As this is a health and safety issue and breaking the NZMPBA rules , should any competitor be found guilty of disconnecting an ignition disabling device, in order to continue racing, they will lose all points gained at that regatta and as well be stood down for the following two sanctioned regattas on the NZMPBA Calendar for that year.

This is a 9 races series so that point scoring system disadvantages a competitor racing all events.
The new proposal envisages using laps accumulated and I suggest adding a premium starting at 25 for 1st
and decreasing from that down to 9th place.
This will make the series more competitive for the competitor competing at more events throughout the year.
With the existing system if a competitors gets 4 x 1st that equals 1600 pts, nearly impossible to beat!

Or is last years precedents are allowed to prevail as per yours did Mr President? Please clarify that the rules apply to all equally and not based on bias and preferential treatment.

It also should be made clear to all how the rules are applied. Transparency and a fair and equal application of the rules should be clear to all, that was not the case last year, and the way I and the BOP club were targeted last year by the President was unacceptable. Not trying to offend, but yourself and the rest of the committee did not condemn the behavior but rather condoned it, and it was wrong! All you guys do is 'discuss' things, talking about people but not to them (you did yourself a couple of times, I acknowledge), but BOP club members and myself especially were attacked numerous times for raising issues of partiality and unfairness.

All we ever asked for was transparency, fair and reasonable treatment as members, and just application of the rules and behavior from those who lead this organisation. Is that too much to ask for?

I personally don't agree with having to accumulate a certain amount of laps before you are actually on the scoreboard and also I might attend 7 out of the 9 Off Shore races but I might also have trouble in some of them and not complete the required amount of laps to obtain a score. I still believe that the best scoring system is one where say there are 10 competitors then 1st gets a score of 10 with a multiplication factor of say 15 so his total points are 150. 2nd place would be 9 x 15 = 135, 3rd place 8 x 15 = 120, 4th place 7 x 15 = 105 and so on down with the last competitor getting a score of 15. If there were say 18 competitors the points scored would be 270, 2nd 255, 3rd 240 and so on down. I believe this to be a fair system that could be trialed and if successful then introduced. 1. Score is the laps accumulated in that event plus
2. Bonus points starting at 25 for the 1st place getter and so on downwards 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 (along the lines of what Formula 1 uses.

The two are then added together for a total score for that event.
So say for first place, scoring 123 laps will get points of 25 as well, meaning 123 + 25 = 148 for that event.
This means that points scored are weighted towards laps completed (where the effort really is) plus a smaller bonus for finishing up in the event.
